History of Eneria
Eneria was founded by the late King Gilan I after The Old Empire fell. He had been a Duke in the old Empire, and when the Emperor died with no heirs, the other nobles and him quickly seized any lands they could and started their new Kingdoms. To get the support of the people in the lands he has secured he let all families rise a rank. Outcasts were redeemed, serfs were freed, and everybody got to see their family move up and on May 15th, 0 AE, King Gilan I and his wife Queen Anora were crowned at Cynebury keep, their newborn daughter Liana was baptized, and the new Kingdom of Eneria was a reality. Truly a new, happier start for everyone.
It was not easy for the King to get Eneria back on its feet after many generations of neglect, but with the help of his loyal subjects they managed to lay the foundation to a great Kingdom. But while the Kingdom was beginning to prosper the Queen got more and more sick, and the King could not help her. He had sent for the best doctors, both in Eneria and abroad, but none were able to help her and she died shortly after seeing her daughter turn 18. The Princess had grown into a beautiful young lady with a great passion for learning, so when she pleaded with the King to let her study and learn instead of marrying, he granted her wish because he only wanted to do what would make her happy. Shortly after her mother's death she travelled to Brona, the land closest to Eneria which had also been a part of the old Empire, and here she enrolled in a university, and it was also here she met Prince Arles, the third and youngest son of the King of Brona. After finishing her degree she traveled back home to her father to learn how to manage the Kingdom that would once become her own, and many years passed like that, but the King was getting old. The last thing then King did before he died was to arrange for Liana to marry Prince Arles of Brona, in that way both ensuring her happiness and an ally for Eneria. In 34 AE King Gilan I died and on the same day as his funeral Princess Liana was crowned Queen Liana I of Eneria, and she was married to Prince Arles, who then became Prince Consort Arles of Eneria.
Two years after their marriage Queen Liana gave birth on her own birthday to their first son, Crown Prince Gilan, and they considered him a gift from the Heavens. It was no easy task for Queen Liana to be a mother and rule a Kingdom at the same time, but with her husband's help she managed, even so much that she started changing several things about the Enerian society that she felt were not good enough. The first of these was the lack of any type of university in Eneria. Her father had focused on getting the Kingdom back on its feet, but for Queen Liana it was now time to start something she would be remembered for, and that was build the new university. It took 15 years for the university to be finished, and rumor has it that it was only certain parts of it that was done. The parts that the Crown Prince would see when he enrolled as a student the year after it was opened. Crown Prince Gilan was the first student at the Royal University of Cynebury, followed 6 years later by his younger brother, Prince Jamond.
Now the Queen has just celebrated her 69th birthday, and is trying to prepare her son for the task he must one day take over from her. She has sent her younger son abroad to visit foreign courts and to find a suitable match for his brother, trusting that he will not fail her.
